| Carl Torbush was an NAIA All-American in both football and baseball at Carson-Newman College. He has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in college football coaching and is generally recognized as one of the very best defensive coordinators in college football. He has just joined the Texas A&M staff as their new defensive coordinator. He follows new Head Coach Dennis Franchione and new offensive coordinator Les Koenning as three of the main coaches who have just come from the Alabama coaching staff. In addition to his coordinator duties, he will also coach the Aggie linebackers. After a brief tenure in minor league baseball, Torbush coached at Baylor, Southeast Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Ole Miss, North Carolina and recently at Alabama. Torbush served stints as head coach at both Louisiana Tech and North Carolina. Torbush and his wife, Janet Torbush, have one son, Trey. |
