Tim's Poem-"Too Soon To Say Goodbye"

We were still wondering why
We had to say goodbye.

Twelve candles burning bright
In the middle of the night.
They fell one by one,
But died not alone.
Someone was there to help them,
They could not do it on their own.
The Twelfth Man was waiting,
Ready at the line
To lead them on their way to safety,
Before he joined their side.
He wanted to come last,
There could be no other way.
Friends tried to help him first,
But he pushed them all away.
He knew his time was coming fast,
But others' needs came first.
He was waiting there to help them
In death as he had on earth.
One by one their turn did come,
At last he was the next.
He had prepared all of his life
For this one final test.
He asked them not to worry.
Truer words he could not say,
He was ready and willing to guide them on their way.
His candle burning brightly,
For all Aggies, some near, some far away.
A spirit that is so special,
Even Angels kneel down to pray.
His, the last life to be taken away.
An Aggie once and for all,
Here on earth, just waiting for the call.
