Here are Team Websider’s fearless predictions for the
Oklahoma
game. It’s been a roller coaster ride in 2009. Right when you think this team is turning the corner, they lose a game they are supposed to win. Right when you think this team is out of its league, they win a big game. Not many pundits and fans give the Aggies much of a chance in Norman on Saturday. But what does TeamWebsider think about the game?

I have no rhyme or reason for this pick. I’m not going to get into a breakdown of offense and defense. Sometimes you have to go with your gut...

I think this is a huge week for the Aggies as they are on the cusp of bowl eligibility and Oklahoma has lost some serious players to injuries. Both teams will come out firing and playing solid defense. I think both offenses take over in the second half and the game comes down to the final minutes of the fourth quarter as Oklahoma edges this young A&M team slightly. Still giving A&M fans a performance to be proud of and hope for the future.

I’ve got the same gut feeling I had the week before Tech. As a fan, you have to realize that this team has a ton of young talent. There’s enough talent to go up to Norman and shock the world. I see this one being a classic shoot-out between two ball clubs fighting for a bowl berth. The way this season is going for the Aggies, a big win like this would be fitting. Win the turnover battle and A&M has a shot.

It’s been a house of horrors for the Aggies in Norman since
Bob Stoops
took over the reins in Oklahoma over a decade ago. In A&M’s five previous games against Stoops on the road, OU has outscored the Aggies by a whopping 237-60. In fact, only once has
Texas A&M
stayed within 21 points, and ironically that’s the point spread Vegas is predicting this week. However, the Sooners are devastated by injury in 2009 and Stoops is in the unfamiliar position of fighting for bowl eligibility. The Aggies have shown to play well as underdogs and I expect a good game. However, while injuries have slowed down the OU offense, the defense is still stacked and they should be able to overcome the injury of Austin English. DC Venables knows that the easiest way to slow down A&M is to put pressure on
Jerrod Johnson
, and with All-American McCoy leading the way you have to like OU’s chances of successfully flushing Johnson out of the pocket. Also, OU’s strength is running the ball, and that’s the Aggies’ Achilles Heel. A&M will play well and cover the spread, but the match-ups aren’t ideal for the Aggies. It will take a +2 turnover ratio for the Aggies to win. That’s possible, but not probable.
