The Aggies take advantage of Arkansas’ poor pass defense and do what it takes to win. A&M has a punt return for a TD to help the offense. Kines loads up Miller/Featherston/Moss/Nealy to get in Mallett's face to hurry his throws and disrupt his timing. The linebackers will be a big key to this game in containing their RB Smith as he is a jitterbug. The added speed and quickness will show up big in this game against Smith. A&M makes a statement and the recruits in Big D will be buzzing after this one.

This game will go through both teams' passing attack, and the play of A&M jack Von Miller and Arkansas defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard. The team that wins will be the defense that can rattle the opposing quarterback early and often. I think Texas A&M should be able to establish a firm running game early on and open up the big plays in the second quarter. I look for this to be a bit of a shootout with A&M's young secondary giving up several hundred yards, but the offense gets the job done.

Another good week of practice for the Aggies means another solid performance on the grid iron. I guess you could call this game Sherman’s "break out" victory, but in my opinion there will be more to come this season. Coach Sherman and his team took Kyle Field yesterday afternoon for a special edition of Midnight Yell. The rally carries over to the field and Jerrod Johnson backs up his recent media hype. Von Miller and the DeSoto boys have a special cause and motivating factor to thrive off of with their number change for their friend and teammate who suffered a severe neck injury. The Aggie defense will see Miller and Featherston on the field together more often this week as well as different blitzes and fronts that should allow them to get to Mallet. Ryan Swope had a stellar week of practice and is poised for a big game. With a healthy Christine Michael, the Aggie offense will be too much for the Razorbacks. Turnovers will be the key.

The conventional wisdom is this will be a shootout. With all the excitement this game will generate inside JerryWorld and the electric big game atmosphere, I think turnovers and mistakes will play a large role in this game. I also think turnovers will keep the score down under 60 points. I think the key will be which team wins the trenches. Can the Aggie OL give Jerrod Johnson time to throw and establish a running attack that keeps A&M out of third and long situations, and can Von Miller and Matt Featherston get past the Arkansas OL and create pressure on Ryan Mallett? I think the answer is “no” to the first question and “yes” to the second question. But Johnson has shown good escapability this season and will make things happen outside the pocket while Mallett will get hit and sacked at least three times by Miller and company. Johnson and his receivers will be too much for a secondary that held tryouts during the week and plan to make wholesale changes. That’s not good for the Pigs any way you slice it. Jamie McCoy is the X factor. He’ll have a big game and lead the offense to the big win.
