Utah State RB
Robert Turbin
had a good game against Utah, rushing for 148 yards, but 96 was on one play. Look for A&M to bottle him up and try to make
Diondre Borel
throw the ball. He was only 10-26 for 121 yards against Utah.. Utah State does has a very good center in Rimmington candidate McFadden on the offensive line that returns two starters, two part-time starters and a JC transfer. On defense the staff at Utah State is very familiar with A&M. The head coach (Anderson) was the defensive coordinator at Utah until last year. The current Utah State defensive coordinator (Bush) was the defensive coordinator at
Nebraska
under Callahan, but that will not be enough to stop the more superior athletes at A&M. This game might be ugly by halftime.

The Aggies come out fired up after a week off and wear down the Utah State defense with their up-tempo offense. All week the Ags have been preparing for a mobile quarterback and they have been very successful in practice stopping the run. Diondre Borel will be shut down by
Von Miller
and company while the offense tears apart the USU man coverage. Jeff Fuller and the stud core of freshman receivers will continue their barrage attack on the opposing secondary. The Ags win convincingly at Kyle Field this week against the Aggies of Utah State.

A struggling post-bye week Texas Aggie defense will allow a few points against this Utah State offense but will have several sacks, obviously led by junior defensive end Von Miller.
Jerrod Johnson
will pick apart the (Utah State) Aggie defense all night with his young but talented receiver corps.

A mobile quarterback would be a nightmare for recent Texas A&M defenses, but 2009 is a new year and the Aggies now have speed and quickness at the linebacker position. Diondre Borel has some running skills, but the lack of any passing game will allow the linebackers and safeties to spy on Borel all day. On offense, Utah State will dare the Aggies to throw over the top, and Jerrod Johnson and Jeff Fuller will appreciate that strategy and have big days and roll up nice numbers. Fuller could go off for 150 yards. The key will be to buy Johnson some time when Utah State blitzes, and Sherman will surely help the left tackles with keeping a running back in the backfield. Utah State is too one dimensional on offense, and A&M has too many playmakers on offense. It may stay close for a quarter, but the Texas Aggies will win convincingly.
