Texas A&M now knows its assignment and its travel plans. The Aggies will be headed to Fort Worth in the TCU Regional and will battle Pac-10 power Oregon State Friday at 2:00 PM.

Head coach Rob Childress and the Texas A&M baseball team received their marching orders today when the selection committee penciled the Aggies as the No. 2 seed at the TCU regional in Fort Worth. The Aggies will face No. 3 seed Oregon State, the 2006 and 2007 national champions, to open the regional on Friday at 2:00 PM.

The regional host, TCU, will be the No. 1 seed and they face NO. 4 seed Wright State Friday evening at 7:00 PM. The winner of the TCU regional will face the winner of the Texas regional in Austin in the Super Regional for the right to advanace to the College World Series.

Oregon State enters the regional with a 35-17 and finished with a 15-12 Pac-10 record. The Beavers have a respectable 3.69 team ERA, but managed only 22 home runs and a .275 team batting average during the regular season.

True freshman Sam Gaviglio, who threw a complete game shutout last weekend against Stanford, will likely get the start against Brooks Raley of Texas A&M. He's 9-1 with a 2.84 ERA, and was promoted into the Beaver weekend rotation late in the season.
