Freshman Hales Blanks Texas 3-0

True freshman lefthander Ross Hales kept Texas A&M's conference championship hopes alive on SAturday with a masterful complete game three-hit shutout of the Texas Longhorns Saturday in Austin
Coming off a disappointing extra inning loss and quick turnaround, the Texas Aggies gutted out a critical 3-0 victory behind the sterling performance of freshman Ross Hales. THe 6-foot-4 lefty kept the Longhorn hitters off-balance all day with an efficient mix of fastballs, changeups, and a sharp breaking curve.
Saturday's complete game shutout was the first against the Texas baseball program since 1979. The win sets up a huge game on Sunday that will go a long way in determining the Big 12 Conference champion. A loss still elimates the Aggies and virtually asures the Longhorns of the title. An A&M win will set-up a regular season finale in Norman next weekend where in all liklihood a series win will give the Aggies the crown.
Kyle Colligan started the scoring in the fourth inning with a solo homerun while Brodie Greene singled in David Alleman and Kevin Gonzalez to finish out the scoring.
Barret Loux is scheduled to take the hill for the Aggies on Sunday. Taylor Jungman will go for the Longhorns.
