The Aggies comeback fell short on Saturday as Texas A&M fell to Kansas State 44-30.

Texas A&M
. Unfortunately, the Aggies could not cap the records with a win, as they fell at home to
Kansas State
.
Jerrod Johnson
through for a team record 419 yards and finished with a total of 487 yards, another team record. Also,
Jorvorskie Lane
moved into lone position for first place on the Aggie all-time rushing touchdown record and total touchdown record with a 1 yard run in the second quarter.
The Aggies fell to 2-4 on the season, and are 0-2 in the Big 12 for the first time. Kansas State (4-2, 1-1) beat Texas A&M for the first time in its last 6 games in the 44-30 on Saturday at Kyle Field.
Josh Freeman
put Kansas State on the board first with a 12 yard touchdown run on the Wildcats' opening drive. Coming back,
Randy Bullock
gave the Aggies a field goal to make the score 7-3.
In the second quarter, Kansas State scored the first three touchdowns, the first coming off a blocked
Justin Brantley
punt that was returned 10 yards for a touchdown. KSU would also score on runs of 4 and 11 yards to extend the lead to 27-3.
Jorvorskie Lane broke the record shortly before half time to make the score 27-10 at the break.
In the third quarter,
Brooks Rossman
made a 49 yard field goal for the Wildcats. Later, Jerrod Johnson capped a long drive with a 5 yard touchdown run. Bullock missed the point after, and the score was 30-16 after three.
In the fourth, Lane was stopped twice inside the two yard line to prevent the Aggies from mounting a comeback. Freeman engineered a 98 yard drive following the stop and capped it off with a 1 yard touchdown.
Texas A&M responded with a 23 yard touchdown to Mike Goodson to bring the score to 37-23. After a failed onside kick, Kansas State was able to put the game out of reach with a touchdown by Freeman, his fourth of the game.
With under a minute left, Johnson hit
Ryan Tannehill
for a 55 yard touchdown. Tannehill finished with 12 catches for 210 yards, both career highs.
The Wildcats converted 9 of 12 first downs as well as their only 4th down attempt. The Aggies out gained the Wildcats 544 to 455, in a game that featured one yard shy of 1000 total offensive yards and only two punts.
