Terrell to Make Surprise Visit to A&M

Two weeks ago Texas A&M racked up seven commitments during a week when they invited several recruiting targets to campus. The Aggies will welcome in another recruit on Tuesday. Aggie Websider's David Sandhop talked with Steven Terrell, and discusses the possibility of yet another Aggie commitment

Originally scheduled to be participating in a Texas A&M summer camp on July 13, Allen cornerback Steven Terrell has moved up that unofficial visit to Tuesday. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back will be making the three hour drive with his father.

"My dad and I are coming down tomorrow," Terrell said. "I've been trying to get down there for over a month but something always came up." The Allen High School product still plans to participate in the July 13 camp, but after talking to assistant coach Randy Jordan, he felt he needed to come up earlier to spend more one-on-one time with the staff.

"I've never been down there and I want to meet the coaches in person without all the stuff going on with a camp," Terrell said. "I called Coach Jordan and we set up the date for tomorrow. He said they are taking 3-4 corners in this class and they still have a spot for me."

Terrell has an impressive list of 18 scholarship offers from several high Division I programs such as Texas A&M, Nebraska, Michigan, Kansas, Arizona State, Arizona, and Louisville to name a few. However, is there a possibility the process ends after the Texas A&M visit tomorrow?

"It's a possibility. I'm trying to make my decision soon and Texas A&M is one of my top schools," Terrell said. "If it feels right, then I may commit. I'm not saying I am for sure, but there's a chance."

So what does Terrell plan to look for on the visit?

"I just want to talk with Coach McMillian (DB coach) and start to build a relationship with him. I want to see if I fit in," Terrell said. "I want to feel comfortable with the surroundings and I want to go somewhere that I'll have an opportunity to earn early playing time."

Terrell indicated that the Aggies and the Kansas Jayhawks are his two favorite schools at the moment, and he's looking at visiting Kansas in the near future.

"I'd like to set something up later this summer to see Kansas," Terrell said. "But I guess that depends now on what happens tomorrow at A&M."
