After leading UCLA at halftime and for most of the second half by as much as ten points, Texas A&M did not deserve the way this game ended. As can be clearly shown from the AP and LA Times photos, Sloan was fouled on the play, and should have been shooting two free throws to tie the game. Shame on you NCAA and officials !

After leading UCLA at halftime and for most of the second half by as much as ten points, Texas A&M did not deserve the way this game ended.

Darren Collison scored the go-ahead basket on a one-handed layin with 9½ seconds remaining in the game.

After a timeout, Aggie guard Donald Sloan drove the lane attempting a shot to tie game and send it into overtime.

As can be clearly shown from the AP photo below, Sloan was fouled on the play, and should have been shooting two free throws to tie the game.

Josh Shipp comes across both of Sloan's arms, grabbing Sloan's right forearm, getting no ball, while Darren Collison grabs Sloan's right elbow.

This shot from the Los Angeles Times shows even more clearly Shipp grabbing the right arm of Donald Sloan on the play - LA Times: Sloan fouled !

As was the case with several other questionable plays in the second half, no foul was called on UCLA.

In addition the the largely partisan pro-UCLA crowd of 17,600 fans that made it seem like a home game for the Bruins, it seemed the Aggies often were having to play against some home team preference officiating. On no play was this more obvious than this last Aggie drive by Donald Sloan.

Sloan may or may not have made the free throws to tie the game - we will never know - but the Texas A&M team and fans at least deserved the opportunity.

Shame on you NCAA and officials !
