With most of the 2008 class already filled, the number of uncommitted prospects at UT's summer camp…
More offers for Fuller
"I went down to the Texas camp this past weekend," Fuller said. "They didn't offer me at the camp, but when I got home I had a message that they were offering me. They said they were impressed."
And there's a lot to be impressed with in regard to Fuller, measuring 6-foot-4.5, 198 pounds with 4.5 speed. Many other college coaches agree. The big, athletic receiver says his Texas offer puts his total list of suitors to over 25.
"Ohio State, Texas, LSU, Texas A&M, OU, Florida, and Michigan says they are close to offering," Fuller said. "I'm honored to be offered by so many excellent schools."
Does the new offer from Mack Brown and Texas change Fuller's timetable or his priorities in his recruiting process?
"I don't think so. It's pretty much the same," Fuller said. "Texas is a great school and I will consider them, but I wouldn't say it changes anything at this point."
With his father a former standout safety at Texas A&M, how has an offer from Texas and other past and present Aggie rivals like OU and LSU been received in the family?
"It seems I'm being recruited by all the rival schools," joked Fuller. "There's definitely a lot of little jokes going back and forth, also with the coaches from different schools. It's all in good fun. Everybody is respecting that this is ultimately my decision to make."
Fuller has just about finished up his recruiting activities for the summer, but he has one more destination before he turns his attention to his senior season.
"I'm done with combines. I'm not necessarily where I want to be yet, but I've learned a lot at these events," Fuller said. "I have an unofficial visit scheduled at Florida in July, and that's it for the summer. It will be time to focus on the season."
Fuller declined to name any favorites, and said he's currently wide open in his decision-making process at the moment. Eager fans and coaches looking for a quick decision will have to wait a while because the McKinney native is in no hurry to pull the trigger.
"I may try to narrow down my list to five by the end of the summer," Fuller said. "But a final decision won't come until later probably after the season and after I take my visits."
Patience is the name of the game with this blue chip receiver from Texas, but with his stock soaring this summer there's no doubt that college coaches will gladly wait for a chance to land this gifted athlete.
