The Aggies, coming off of a win at then-No. 6 Kansas on Saturday, notched their 21st straight home game victory and separated themselves even further in the Big 12 race, beating Texas 100-82 Monday night in front of a record crowd of 13,196 and a national viewing audience.
Josh Carter
and
Acie Law
led the way for the Aggies (20-3, 8-1 Big 12), scoring 24 and 21 points respectively. The Horns’
Kevin Durant
tallied 28 points--the most an opponent has scored against the Aggies this season. The victory was A&M's third straight win against a ranked opponent.
The Aggies led by as many as 14 points in the first half, but the Horns (16-7, 6-3 Big 12) made hit 20 of 21 free throws, making it 45-40

at the half. Despite the temporary surge, the Aggies were still able to hold
Texas
to less than 50 percent shooting.
Texas A&M Senior Acie Law put the win into perspective: "I feel like if we just hold onto our position we can accomplish our goal of winning the Big 12 Championship. There is still a long way to go but we feel that we have put ourselves in a good position.”
Under Head Coach Billy Gillispie, Texas A&M has accomplished three straight 20-win seasons for the first time in school history. Gillispie commented after the game: “We are nine games into the conference season and we are in good shape but we have a lot of work to do."
The Aggies travel to Lincoln, Neb. on Saturday to face conference foe
Nebraska
. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
