COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- No. 6 Texas A&M defeated Oklahoma in front of a sold-out crowd at Reed Arena in College Station Saturday, 70-61. The victory marked the 19th straight home win for the Aggies.

Antanas Kavaliauskas scored 20 points and senior Acie Law added 19, including 12 in the last four minutes as Texas A&M (17-3, 5-1 Big 12) won a tough battle with Oklahoma (11-8, 3-4 Big 12) Sophomore Josh Carter added to the effort with 13 points.

The win snapped a 14-game losing Aggle losing streak against the Sooners. Texas A&M had not beaten Oklahoma since 1998.

Senior forward Nate Carter lead the scoring for the Sooners with 19 points and seven rebounds. Austin Johnson added 10 points.

Texas A&M was down by one at the half, and the Sooners continued to keep the game close in the second half, twice chipping the Aggie lead down to two. But A&M answered with a quick jumper by Dominique Kirk with five minutes remaining in the game, and never looked back.

Texas A&M will try to continue their winning ways at the friendly confines of Reed Arena when they face Iowa State on Wednesday, January 31. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
