Series:
Texas A&M leads Oklahoma State 15-6. The Aggies have won eight of ten contests against the Cowboys since the inception of the Big Twelve Conference. A&M beat OSU 36-20 the last time they made the trip to Stillwater.
Texas A&M Head Coach
Dennis Franchione
on Oklahoma State’s offense:
"Oklahoma State is scary on offense. Anybody that scores 42 points in less than a half is a little frightening at how quick they can score and how explosive they are.
Bobby Reid
is an excellent quarterback. We really liked Bobby when he was a senior in high school, but we got Stephen (McGee) so we were very pleased that we got our guy but Bobby has grown into the position, he’s gotten some experience, he’s stayed healthy and he can run and he can throw. They have a couple of outstanding receivers and an offensive line that is doing a nice job right now. The backs are doing a nice job."
Franchione on OSU’s improvement:
“I said before the season Oklahoma State would be a much-improved ball club and they’re in year two and I think that’s the most vivid part. What you see is a team that is comfortable with what they’re doing as compared with last year when it was all new."
Oklahoma State Head Coach Head Coach Mike Gundy on running back
Jorvorskie Lane
:
“He is playing really well right now. That is good news for them but not for everybody else in the league. He is playing with some confidence right now, in my opinion. Coach Fran and those guys are doing a good job of getting the ball to him. They are controlling the clock with him."
Gundy on playing at home:
“Our players are excited about playing here. I think everybody is aware that when we have played our league games here in the past four or five years we have an advantage. It is a sea of orange and it is loud. There is always a comfort level when playing here. It is nice to get back home."
