In the state of Texas prospects are always emerging, but its not usually quarterbacks. The gunslingers are usually known early in the process, but one star quarterback has slipped through the cracks until now, Big Spring, Texas star Ryan Tannehill.
"I have offers from UTEP, Houston, TCU, Texas A&M, Tulsa and New Mexico State," Tannehill said. "I have been to UTEP, Houston, TCU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech this summer to camps and various things."
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Tannehill has six offers, but is keeping a close eye on two schools.
"TCU and Texas A&M are my top two right now," Tannehill said. "TCU is a great program and they win a lot of games. It is a great school and it continues to get better. It is also kind of close to home.
Texas A&M is in the Big 12, which is obviously a great conference and you play big time teams. They have tons of student support and it's a great atmosphere. They sort of took a step back last year, but I think they will get a lot better this year."
Don't look for the strong armed quarterback to wait very long to make his decision.
"I want to decide sometime in the next couple of weeks," Tannehill said. "TCU has said I'm the only quarterback that they have offered. Houston has told me that I am their top guy and have been pushing really hard for me, so I like that about both of those schools."
