Texas A&M Head Coach
Billy Gillispie
on
Antoine Wright
’s play vs.
Colorado
:
“[Wright] stepped up when we needed him to do it,” Texas A&M coach Billy Gillispie said. “He put us on his shoulders and played the game the right way.”
Gillispie on the Reed Arena crowd:
“You’ve got to win your home games in conference to have any chance to be a postseason team. That’s what I think they have lacked here. The support has been fantastic but they’ve got to keep coming and we’re going to keep on playing hard. Then it gives your team a chance to be competitive at home and be right there.”
Iowa State’s
Curtis Stinson
on NCAA tourney consideration of the Cyclones:
"We don't get a lot of respect as it is, so we're not asking anybody to give us anything. It just tells them, 'Here we come. We can play with anybody in the country.'”
ISU Note:
Iowa State is coming off a huge 63-61 overtime victory over No. 2
Kansas
at Lawrence, Ks. The win was the Cyclones' seventh straight, after starting Big 12 play with five consecutive losses.
