It was last year when Denton (TX) Ryan offensive lineman Matt Griffin got an offer from SMU. But ever since one of the coaches on staff made the move to the West Coast, Griffin has not heard much from that camp since.
Now moving forward, Griffin looks for more movement to occur. He is hearing from a couple of schools at the Division I and II level.
"I have been to a few Arkansas game, but I am also hearing from Louisiana Tech, Stanford and ULM," Griffin said. "One of the coaches from here is now at Abilene Christian (D2) and he has been talking with me also. I will likely take a trip there to see how it is."
Right now, things are in a somewhat transition as the 6-foot-3, 290-pound Griffin and his team are out of the playoff race as the 2012 season is over. On the recruiting side of things, there too is a state of limbo as Griffin is looking for some movement to occur during the holidays and at some point before National Signing Day.
He has made some visits this season to Fayetteville, AR, but not much outside of that.
"We'll just have to see what happens. I would like to see more offers come my way," Griffin said. "I'm a versatile lineman. I played left tackle this season and right guard last season. I can even play center, so I could be used as a utility guy on the line."
Plenty of interest is coming from all directions to 2013 offensive guard, Matt Griffin.
